Florida GOP clears the field for Posey

WASHINGTON -- State Sen. Bill Posey won’t have to worry about a divisive Republican primary in his bid to succeed U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon, R-Indialantic. The state party made sure of that today.

Florida Republican Chairman Jim Greer endorsed the Rockledge lawmaker this morning and authorized national fundraising groups to support Posey -- even in a primary. The decision effectively ends any chance of GOP infighting in the Space Coast district.
